Mike Dunn — Lead Guitar
Mike Dunn picked up the guitar in third grade, learning basic chords before discovering the power chord in high school and playing along to records. Growing up in Huntington Beach, California, Mike and his brother also created Rockstock, an early music video and interview project that ran from 1986–1992. Rockstock featured interviews with artists including The Offspring, fIREhose’s Mike Watt, and Joey Ramone.
Mike was a founding member of Thee OhNos, formed in 1997, and remains active with the band today. Thee OhNos became part of Phoenix and Tempe’s garage-rock and punk scene, playing many of the Valley’s legendary clubs. Mike was a frequent performer at Cannery Row, which he described in a 2025 Phoenix New Times retrospective as “our Cavern Club.”
Over the years, Mike has also played with The Markdowns, The Bada Bings, and The Halahs, where he played bass. Mike is also a DJ with Downtown Radio Tucson, hosting a weekly late-Friday-night show from 11 PM to 1 AM. His DJ channel, Garage AuGoGo, features underground ’60s garage and punk tunes.
Mike first recorded with Thee Bad Janets while living in Tucson, contributing guitar to the band’s 2023/2024 EP. After returning to Phoenix in late 2025, he officially joined Thee Bad Janets in February 2026 as lead guitarist.
With nearly four decades of playing, recording, performing, and immersing himself in early garage, punk, and underground rock, Mike brings a deep musical history to Thee Bad Janets.
